How does Google WiFi work?
Does Google WIFI make your Internet faster?
With the latest router technology, you will be ahead of Google WiFi. Other network routers come out first, but it’s one of the best out there. Why is that? Not only did they pack a lot of features and benefits at an affordable price, but they did it in a sleek, minimal, and modern package.
In addition, Googe WiFi is very easy to configure. The network is connected and managed using a mobile app, making it difficult to switch to a network router, simplifying the process for those who may think that switching from a network to a router is a daunting task. It’s no wonder Google has been so influential in directing the charge regarding network routers. If you look at the competition, you will find that even if it is a market like Netgear Orbi or Samsung Connect Home before Google WiFi, it offers better value for money. Whether it’s for an interesting price or quality functionality, this is a fantastic option. The wireless network router is perfect for anyone jumping on the bandwagon.
Price and usability
Google doesn’t ask for much in terms of access and features, especially for what Google WiFi can do. It sets you back $ 259 (roughly $ 204, AU $ 399) for a set of three units with one primary Wi-Fi point (connecting to the modem or door) and two secondary Wi-Fi access points. Google promises three Wi-Fi access points that can cover 4,500 square feet (418 square meters).
If you work with a small apartment, you can buy a single Google WiFi unit for just $ 99 (£ 129, AU $ 199). If you are in the UK, you have a choice of 2-pack and 3-pack Google WiFi, which cost you $ 229 and $ 329, respectively.
Australians will be happy that Google WiFi is now available – they can get a single node for AU $ 199 or a 3-pack for AU $ 499. Google WiFi is great value: It offers more units for less than any rival like the Netzier Orby, $ 400 ($ 320, AU $ 520) with other wireless network routers, at least for that.
Design and preparation
Not only does Google have high prices, but it also has stylishly designed Wi-Fi units. Each Google WiFi unit has a small and simple cylindrical white LED strip in the center that offers the same capabilities.
This means that any Google WiFi unit can act as the basic ‘router’ of the system, while others can extend the wireless signal sent to the unit wirelessly, including the Ethernet port and wireless Internet. All three drives are powered via USB-C.
Setup is as seamless as Google WiFi hardware design – use a free iOS or Android app to support the entire process. We’re not going to delve into the ugliness of the process, but the Google WiFi app will allow you to configure your network by first scanning the QR code of the Wi-Fi point connected to your modem or gateway.
The app will then name your new network and set a password, then pair any additional Wi-Fi spots you have by scanning their QR codes; then you can name individual nodes in the application. Again, it takes a short time for the first Google WiFi node to identify additional nodes and start working on them. You don’t have the same access to Netzier Orby offerings, so switching bands is not an option. However, Google handles this automatically behind the WiFi screen.
The Google WiFi application provides continuous monitoring of your network, as well as more useful settings, such as points and devices connected to it. The app also has an Okla network test that measures the status of connections at your locations, as well as an Internet speed test, such as a Wi-Fi test that measures the strength of your connection from the Internet.
Although there are no drop-down boxes or switches, this is by far the most comprehensive and modern control kit we’ve seen in a Wi-Fi network system. Also, you can prioritize bandwidth for one device at a time, control smart home devices, and pause internet access to certain devices in a familiar environment, within the limits of this app.
Now, Google has expanded the Google WiFi network browsing feature to scan multiple devices so that you can reset your Google WiFi access points while trying to identify potential barriers on your network, as well as optimize network performance.
Performance of Google WiFi
Google WiFi is supported if the performance of the Netgear Orby cannot be beat. Taking full advantage of our 100Mbps Wi-Fi service, we have not seen that any router can provide the same service. But the basic difference here is that Google WiFi is able to bring this high performance to all our rooms, even the smallest ones.
We can stream 4K video via Netflix to our downstairs Roku Primer and seamlessly play back in the office where the modem is located. Wi-Fi network systems like Google Wi-Fi don’t pay much attention to coverage. Still, this product certainly delivers.
The Traffic Priority feature ensures that your sports session receives more of that critical bandwidth than any other device in your home. In addition, the network can be repaired automatically if one or more Wi-Fi access points accidentally lose power.
Although we know that the NetGear Orby tri-band system, which communicates through a second 5 GHz Wi-Fi zone, will network to existing Wi-Fi zones (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) via of the Google WiFi 802.11s network protocol, no difference was observed. . We can see the download speed of MB / s on Orbi’s 2.4GHz band via Google WiFi. However, it can also be a potential anomaly.
Where Google WiFi really outperforms similar routers is its range of coverage rates. I’m sure you can get similar coverage from low-drive anti-competitive systems, but the flexibility you get from having more drives, to minimize dead spots, is enormous.
Google WiFi is the simplest and most effortless router we’ve ever set up. Also, consider the two additional components required to complete the process. For a reasonable price, Google has more units than most of its rivals, as well as the best configuration and management app to date.
Despite fine hardware controls and the lack of AC3000 or AC2200 output, Google can analyze each toggle and present it in a way that is easily understood through its app. There is even a bandwidth priority control. Pair that with a cleaner, tidier hardware design than any other router we’ve seen, and you’ve got one of the best Wi-Fi systems you can buy for money in 2019.
